I'm a 59 year old 2 channel audio guy trying to help his son build a
combination audio/home theatre room. We have the room roughed out but are in a quandry about where to locate the Electronics. Obviously, the video screen-amp-center channel and front channel speakers will go on the front wall. Is there a prefered location (front, back or side walls)for the rest of the Electronics (preamp/processor, source components, etc.)
I would really appreciate any recommendations that you might have.

I have mine to the side of the monitor for easy use of remotes. I also either defeat or tape over all displays and led's so as not to be distracted from the screen display.
