Cant find older threads on this...so here goes:Have Direct TV HD reciver (Samsung) with optical out to AV Reciever (Rotel)...all of which are less than 3 years old.
On some HD off air and off sattelite programs...voice lags behind video (Panasonic HD Plasma).
Any idea on how to fix...
Follow Ups:
Very, very common problem- the only way to "fix" it is to hope there's an adjustment for it in either TV or the Receiver.
I thought Panasonic has a setting for it (in some models at least) called video sync or video delay or maybe even audio delay.I have the PX42X plasma, Panasonic XR 45 Receiver, Panasonic S77 DVD player and TIme Warner HD cable box and 2 TIVOs and do not have this problem.

When people talk about sync problems, it usually involves the audio coming before the video (ie; words are heard before an actor's lips move). This is the most common problem and that's what your solution corrects (rather expensively, I might add, as there are less expensive delay products): "audio before video" sync. The box delays the audio in a user programmable amount to allow the video to catch up.However, what he is describing is "video before audio" sync. That's when words are heard after you see an actor's lips move. In order to correct this, you must delay the video -- not the audio -- in order to get things in sync. And unless he has described the problem incorrectly , that's some major $ to do.
