How's THAT for alliteration, hmm?
Anyway, I've got a slight problem on my hands, and I was hoping that somebody might be able to help. I work for Best Buy, where we just sold a 43" Pioneer plasma (model PDP-4361HD) to a customer, which worked fine for a couple of weeks. However, it started to give him a grey box with the words "Plasma working/searching" (or something along those lines, I don't really know). He tried unplugging the unit, and then immediately plugging it back in, and everything was kosher. But, understandably, he decided to bring it back in and get another unit.
Guess what? Same problem.
One of my co-workers called Pioneer, and they said that they have never heard of the problem with one of their plasmas (let alone two in a row!), nor have I, nor any of my co-workers.
As the Customer Experience Specialist for our store, it is my job to do everything in my power to make sure that this customer is happy with his purchase. He has a great plasma on his hands, but if it doesn't work... well, expensive piece of glass, right?
Pioneer did mention that the unit must run on 110v to work properly. I know that here in Bellingham (the customer lives nearby), we run a little high: average of 126-128v. However, this seems to be within a normal tolerance. Could this be the issue?
Also, I believe that this is a new house that he has built, so I'm wondering if there are any electrical problems which were accidentally missed.
If you can be of any help, it would be much appreciated, both by the customer and by me.
Thanks, in advance, for your time.
Cheers,
ChrisP.S. I believe that both of the units worked fine when we tested them in the store upon their return.

You've got a better chance of finding an answer if you surf over to www.avsforum.com (link provided below), click on forum for "display devices," then go to the plasma section, and search on that particular model of Pioneer.townsend
Switch him to a Panny plasma & put this behind you.
