What's the best way to play 4:3 (1.33:1) aspect ratio DVDs on 16:9 plasma TV? If I use the 4:3 mode, there are 2 ugly bars on the sides and the screen looks tiny. If I use the full mode, the actors look like dwarfs. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Follow Ups:
My new Panasonic TH-42PX60U plasma has a "Just" mode that stretches only the sides while the center of the picture remains undistorted. It is done so well that you need a crawling text at the bottom to tell (by the way the text stretches at each end).
On my Panasonic plasma, I use the FULL mode. In the JUST mode, images are stretched at the ends and look horrible, especially during horizontal pans and any type of "tickers" across the bottom or top of the screen. I don't see how anyone can watch in the JUST mode after they noticed the forementioned visual eye-sores.
Toshiba's roller-coaster stretcher:
mt 51" RP SONT has this mode and calls it "wide zoom". I absolutely hate it and never use it.

I think you should show it in 4:3 because using "Full" or "Wide Zoom" will distort the picture and using "Zoom" will cause you to lose picture information like chopped off heads, etc.
Seems like you are using a stretch mode. Try a zoom mode; you will lose some off the top and bottom but there will be minimal distortion.
Is there any DVD player that will upconvert a 4:3 to 16:9 ratio without much visible distortion? Thanks!
