I have heard that some Plasma TVs have Fans to cool them - True? - A friend of mine recently bought a Set and was irritated by the fan noise.I currently have a Samsung 32 inch LCD - No fan Quiet! - I am considering getting a 42 inch Plasma, but do not want a fan.
Can someone here educate me on this? - Thanks!

I just purchased the Sony 40" XBR1. It has a fan but is quiet. You can only hear it if no other sound is present. Picture is awesome with roof antenna displaying digital and HD chanels.I thought I would be at a disadvantage without cable tv but most broadcast chanels have secondary digital chanels and alternates.
All of the 50" and up models have fans and I'm pretty sure the majority of the 42" HD models do. Most of the fans cannot be heard farther than 4ft - 5ft away in a very quiet room. Except for the "whoosh" sound when the display is first turned on, it's pretty much a non-issue.
Do yourself a favor & go to AVS forum. There`s a wealth of knowledge & info there. I think I saw a Forum just on flat panels.
