I just hooked up a Panasonic SA-XR70S to a Toshiba SD-3960SU and there is no sound. I know the speakers are hooked up correctly because when I switch to FM I can hear snow(no antenna). The units are connected with a coaxial cable at the receiver "coax in DVD" plug. Am I missing something? Your help is appreciated.

I'm new to digital and there are a lot of hook-up possibilities with this receiver. It was all kind of confusing and I didn't think to check the DVD manual. Thanks Joe!
I've been periodically reviewing and posting at audioasylum forums for the last three or more years. The level of experience, dedication, and professionalism is the best. Thanks everyone,

Is the digital output set correctly in the DVD player's Menu? It should be set to Bitstream or Bitstream = ON/YES/ENABLED.
