    I have the Sony.

    After getting the DVI-HDMI cable to go from HD cable box to TV and making video adjustments on the Sony, couldn't be much happier.

    Also, obtained great price from a place I like- the Oade Brothers.

  If you truly mean flat-panel, not rear-projection LCD or DLP, there are 2 that are truly outstanding.

  Panasonic 50" plasma TH-50PX60U

  Samsung 46" LCD LN-S4692D

  If you want 1080p and/or bigger screen, the top-of-the-line Sony SXRD 60" RPLCD is truly awesome, but you just missed the special 2-day sale at Best Buy, when they were selling the $4500 Sony for $3100 for some unknown reason...

          It's from 2 years ago.

          Below is a link to the Panasonic commercial (not consumer) model site (actually to the 65" 8UK). Click on the Brochure download and you can see the specs for all of the current Panasonic commercial models -- NTSC, PAL, SECAM, etc are listed about 3/4 of the way down in Color Systems .
