Best DVD player with budget of $600 for Sony SXRD?
I have been looking at...Rotel RDV-1092 (which is a touch more than 600)

and a few others.
I was wondering which was a better player. I don't need a recorder

Why stay with the old technology? I picked up a Toshiba HD 1a and think it's spectacular on upscaling the standard DVD's and it's a nother experience on hddvd
OPPO OPDV971H
I would look at the Rotel, both for picture and sound quality. That dealer may be willing to let you try it out at home.
I also been looking at Toshiba - HD DVD HD-A1
While I sent my Oppo back for repair, I picked up a Tosh HD-XA1 HD DVD player to play with. Its a VERY good upscaling dvd player. Better than the Oppo in most ways, but I've only had it for a few days, and I cannot do a head to head comparison. Pity it isn't region free.
