Anyone compared the HDMI and components video output ?
Any difference or improvement that HDMI has over the components ?
Thanks in advance,
Redrose.

From reading plenty of posts on this topic, the consensus is: no consensus.
Some praise the HDMI, some rant.
I would guess this means that it all depends on WHICH source and WHICH Tv you have as to how well they combine to display a better or worse picture via HTMI
My own HTMI does look better that component
Denon DVD-5910 to a Sony 42XS955 Plasma TV.
I can understand some folks bitterness about the HDMI failing to please when so much hype is put out about how much better it is.
But, like I said, it all depends on the synergy between the components being connected via HDMI
In my experience, depending upon your source and display, HDMI yields a 10 - 25% increased in overall picture quality over component video. My experiences using HDMI are with my HD cable box and Oppo DVD player. I notice a remarkable improvement each time.
If you have a digital source and display, why muck things up with an analog connection between the two?
I find that the Component presents a more neutral palette of color as opposed to HDMI/DVI of which it tends to saturate and brightened up everything. I supposed to each his own.
directionality still matters on digital cables such as i.Link & HDMI
