The Samsung player is already out now. Early reports aren't promising. The Sony has been delayed, so time will tell about that one. As for HD DVD players collecting dust, that must be local. They are selling well in at least one BB in my area, as are the discs. FWIW, the Toshiba is also a KILLER upscaling DVD player.

They are apparently available at Best Buys and circuit city. I haven't been shopping for one, and as a rule don't go into those stores if I can help it. Right now, there are only 7 discs available, with more coming out soon. People have commented that the Fifth Element and House of Flying Daggers aren't very impressive due to bad transfer or transfer from a bad print. Others are supposed to be better.

Funny the superbit dvds @ 9.99 have many of the same titles but rate VG..
PC world blogs report nothing bad about the samsung player but the 7 discs rate poor..
