I got a new Denon 2910 to hold me over untill Blu Ray is ready. I hooked it up to my new Panasonic 50" plasma, but to my surprise the HDMI connection looks worse than the svideo.
I had tried a few other cheaper DVD players before, and they looked good, but they were all so flimsy that I returned them and got this Denon.
I tried everything in the manuals, and the picture just looks crapy with lots of artifacts. The svideo connection actually looks smoother.
Is it something with Denon DHMI thats different from the others.
I hate to return it, but what else can I do.
Thanks for any help.
Follow Ups:
Panasonic plasmas and Denon DVD players don't interface well. Panasonic plasmas exaggerate macro-blocking issues with any DVD player using the Fauradja de-interlacing chip (that includes Denon). It's frustrating given that Panasonic is known for high quality plasma tvs and Denon is renoun for video performance. Most would recommend getting a DVD player without a Fauradja chip for use with a Panny.
or a bad cable.
