I'd definately understand the problem there. First, the name just sounds horrible. Second and more importantly, I'm not so sure I'd want to purchase any assembled product where "Lucky" was part of the name! How about "Engineered Goldstar", or maybe "Quality Goldstar" (still corny, but at least a positive reference).
Follow Ups:
In Asia, "lucky" is a strong positive compliment thats much less related to risk than in our use. Seems to work...they went from $59 Goldstar color 13" TVs at K-mart to LG plasma TVs in upscale A/V sellers in a few short years. Seen a Zenith or Magnavox TV lately?
Especially thier plasmas, and they seem to have abandoned LCOS completely.

I've been really surprised to see LG touted as high-end, both in electronics and, now, appliances. They even managed to get the upscale boutique stores to carry their stuff. Investment in slick ads and industrial design for appearance pays.
'Tis true in Asia that Lucky is viewed much different than in NA. What's a Zenith or Magnavox? :) Marketing marketing....
There's a lot to be said for a name.
Its a shame that a grand old American product name like Zenith was unceremoniously peddled to some anaonymous Korean factory.
