Could I do the same thing with a multi-channel receiver? That way I could have the pre/pro and the additional amps for the supporting channels. Or is it impossible to run my mono's through a receiver?
I'm asking because that would save me the expense of buying another pre and another amp. And I have a great Denon connection.

  I'm not familiar with your pre however if it has the discrete 6 channel (FR, FL, SW, C, SR and SL) inputs similar to the back on the left side of the pre image above you should be ok. Of course it has to have the pre outs as well to accomodate the external amps for future expansions that you're thinking of. Hopefully this helps.

    It has no connections for center, rear or subwoofer. I've using line-level connections for the sub.
    So if I used a A/V receiver I would be unable to use separate amps for the front speakers?

      you'd be able to use separate amps for the front speakers as well as surrounds speakers if you do so desire.
