Question about SONY SXRD TV and resolutions up-conversions
Follow up question about resolutions....please don't black list mmI have a normal television channel that is broadcasted in HD. The television shows it being displayed as 720p, not 1080p. If I got a 1080p television, why is it not converting to 1080p instead of 720p. Also, the same question about the DVD's I play, the television shows them displayed as 1080i instead of 1080p, why?
Follow Ups:
The HD channel is broadcasting in 720p, and your upscaled DVDs are being sent at 1080i. The TV then upscales or deinterlaces to 1080p, its native resolution.
This is all in the owner's manual.

Unfortunatly my question and the answer I am looking for is not in the owners manual. Unless I missed the page.In your reply you stated "The TV then upscales or deinterlaces to 1080p, its native resolution" I understand that. But why does the TV show it being displayed at 1080i, not 1080p?
Please dont be angry with me, just trying to learn something here.
What I am reading on the screen is not the resolution I am viewing, but instead it is the resolution that is coming into the television! Correct?
