In Reply to: Question about SONY SXRD TV and resolutions up-conversions posted by BKSinAZ@yahoo.com on September 12, 2006 at 08:29:05:
The HD channel is broadcasting in 720p, and your upscaled DVDs are being sent at 1080i. The TV then upscales or deinterlaces to 1080p, its native resolution.
This is all in the owner's manual.

Unfortunatly my question and the answer I am looking for is not in the owners manual. Unless I missed the page.In your reply you stated "The TV then upscales or deinterlaces to 1080p, its native resolution" I understand that. But why does the TV show it being displayed at 1080i, not 1080p?
Please dont be angry with me, just trying to learn something here.
What I am reading on the screen is not the resolution I am viewing, but instead it is the resolution that is coming into the television! Correct?
