In Reply to: Need advice on new LCD/ which is better for reg.cable not HD? posted by benie on November 26, 2006 at 21:31:11:
I have Sony’s latest LCD XRB2 with native 1080p resolution. Much, probably most, standard definition content is quite good. Because the video processor must “fill in“ for the missing information, standard def content is a bit softer by comparison to a good regular CRT TV. On my Sony, a bit of softness is the only downside. I have yet to see any video noise on any content. In addition, standard def is better in my home than what I saw in any dealer on any set.HD content varies from very good to simply stunning.
I migrated to HD because the vast majority of what I watched was available in HD from my cable provider.

Thanks TGT. Looks like the Sony XRB is one to look for and I saw one today, Very Nice, a little pricey though but they only had the 42 in the store. Gotta do some more looking.
