Like blackpixels, I have toyed with the idea of getting a Blu ray player. Netflix has lots of titles. However, I just know that next year at this time Sony will have its second generation player out and other venders will have competing players.
This may be unrealistic on my part but is there any chance that there are universal players in the works that will play Blu ray and HD DVD? There are universal CD players that play both high resolution audio formats, SACD and DVD Audio.
Follow Ups:
LG was talking about a univertsal player, and a few other companies have mentioned it in the past, but they never come into being. My guess is that they got pressured to not do a dual player. A dual player would be nice-it would end the "war" once and for all. We'll see whats up in a few weeks at CES.
