Netflix has both Blu-ray and HD DVD discs to rent. As for pricing, Amazon sells HD DVDs for about 30% off, plus an additional 10% off as a 1 year promotion, so I pay $18 for HD DVDs (not combos), tax free, free shipping. That's not too bad, and I assume the situation is similar for Blu-ray discs at Amazon.
There are lots of reasons not to buy into the new formats, but lack of rentals and price of discs aren't amoung them.
