Dolby Digital's acceptance by numerous studios and the masses has proved that sound quality is a distant second to video quality re: the movie experience. The only soundtrack it's truly worthy of is the actors'/director's commentaries where fidelity is of least importance.Fortunately for audiophiles, DTS came out with a better codec with regard to sound quality on DVD. And they are once again raising the bar for sound quality as FOX is showing with their DTS-HD MA Blu-ray releases.
