I get widescreen and 5.1 Dolby digital for many movies and TV programs from DirectTV. I use a DirectTV HR10-250 TiVo HD DVR with component cables to a Sony 36 XBR, an older non-digital monitor that will display 1080i. I have never tried PPV.
