the othermorning I was playing with my new circuitbent toy I like to call the black box of death, I went to plug it into my surround system audio input and accidently plugged it into the video input!!! Boy was I in for a surprise, GLITCH TV!!! This produced black and white horizontal lines in sync with the audio, the more volume the more interesting. this was cool, but no color...So I thought the color off a VCR is Really nice and saturated. So I built a little mixer to mix the toy with the VCR AWESOME!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!COLORS!!!!TRIPPY!!! then I took it a little further by creating some video feedback and recorded it to a VHS, I then mixed that with the toy You get the point... has anyone tried this before?? any ideas to build on??
Follow Ups:
When I was in high school (~1973) I took a TV production class. One thing we were told was "never point the camera into the monitor" like it would cause an explosion or something. One day I tried it and what I discovered became my class project. If you start with the infinite series of television screens, then rotate the camera and play with the f-stop and monitor brightness/contrast while turning off the lights in the room, you can get some really interesting effects, sort of like a lava lamp and kaleidoscope combined. I put about 10-15 minutes of my best stuff together with an electronic music soundtrack. While watching my project, one girl in the class said "I think I'm going to throw up".
