Quoted recommended retail for a PS3 over here is around the $900-1000 Australian mark and our dollar is currently worth about 79 c US. In round figures, that's about $720-800 US which, I think, is about 50% higher than recommended retail in the US.

The PS3 goes anywhere from $599-$1000(for the 60gb). like I said sometimes you can catch a break on eBay if you watch it.
