Want to put DVD player with TV that only has antenna type input.
The modulators that I have seen on various sites include Nexxtech,
Terk, RCA, and Dynex. It seems that some only have composite input,
but some had both composite and S-video. I'm guessing S-video
is the better? Thanks!
Follow Ups:
RadioShack actually has a decent RF Modulator. They have them with and without the S-video output. I picked up 2 and 1 (S-video) on ebay a few years back but they're not that expensive in the store either.
The problem is, even if you input S-Video into the RF modulator, the picture quality via the RF modulated signal (into ch 3 or 4 typically) won't be any better vs using composite video into a modulator. Not worth worrying about... just get any decent RF modulator.
That's what I did with some spare stuff hanging around.DVD player RCA video out to an older Panny RCA video in to the RF video out to an RF ch. 4 in on an old 13" JVC TV.
I have the audio hooked up to an old receiver, but you could run L & R audio to the VCR as well. You can get hold of older VCR's at any tag sale for less than the cost of an RF adapter.
.
Maybe I missed something, but the DVD players I am looking at, even many of the cheaper new ones don't have RCA/antenna out, they have S-vidio or composite or component. So a VCR that has only RCA/Antenna
video connections would not do me any good. I have already have an old VCR and it offers no solution.
..but he didn't ask about using a VCR. Maybe he doesn't have one. Maybe he has one but it's too big and clunky for the task. I dunno.
