I'm thinking of putting in 2 subs. Not necessarily for stereo but I have read that two subs will improve the overall bass response of a system. i have Avalon front speakers and am about to get JM Labs mini-utopias for the surround and the new mini-utopia center(both in 2-3 months). Do you all think that timbre matching is important in subs? In this case I would get 2 sub-utopias(the Avalons have Focal woofers). If not , I was thinking about 2 REL Stentors. Thanks,David Shapiro
It has been my experience that a sub does not have to be a timbre-match to the other speakers UNLESS you are running the crossover unusually high (which isn't a particularly good idea anyway). Don't worry about the brand of sub--just go for what you like and what you can afford.
Hope this helped!
Yes it does,thanks.David
