.....but it does seem to make sense. The two times the cable company came out to 'fix' my picture by taking off my ground isolaters, they denied any grounding issues coming from their cable line. Both times they swore that there are no grounding issues with their product, even going into great detail(re: BS)to explain how their cable signal cannot pollute my electrical line (which it obviously does). So who do I talk to at the cable compnay? As the operators and service techs are obviously clueless when it comes to these problems.
Thanks for your help Kal.

What worked for me was explaining to the service tech that (1) the hum loop was audible ONLY when their cable was connected, (2) that they had no solution and (3) that they had a responsibility to provide a usable service. I also told him that I expected him to deny responsibility. I then told him that it is all over the Internet that cable companies that locate their ground, for their own convenience, distant from the main ground CREATE these ground loops due to the potential differences at the two separated grounds. Finally, he said it would take him only about 10 minutes to relocate the ground which he did. Problem solved.Of course, that was my second or third service tech. Guess I finally got one who listened.
