Fortunately, it's a solution available to me. I was already using two (2) sets of six channel inputs on a MC analog preamp. One set for the SACD/DVD-A player and one set for the ancient preamp/processor for DD/DTS decoding. I special-ordered another 6 cable set to route the Blu-Ray/HD-DVD combo player 6 channel output to a a third set of six channel inputs to the preamp. I still have a 4th set of 6 channel inputs for another source. Granted, most people won't have this solution; I'm hoping for a full-featured Uber-Universal player which will play BLU-RAY, HD-DVD, SACD, DVD-A, etc... but I expect that one, if it ever exists), is at least a year away. You can get the DD/DTS sound through the optical; you won't get the TrueHD, DTS HD MA, and probably not the uncompressed PCM. Still, Any of the DTS HD discs will have a DTS 1.5MB core track which will sound better than anything you'll have with DVD (and playable via coax/optical) through your receiver's DD/DTS decoder).

as opposed to SACD and DVD Audio sound.

I sure love mine. I too am using both sets of 6-channel inputs, one from my Denon 2900 and now one from my new-to-me Toshiba HD-XA1. Here's a pic--it's rather busy with triple 6s plus 2 stereo input pairs, another output cable to an additional centerchannel active filter, and the 72V.-dielectric-bias battery (for the Audioquest cable) my friend made.
I commandeered that tape-out jack because I didn't want to use a y-splitter.
The 'important' cable is AQ Panther; the rest is twisted-quad, stranded-silver MAS Gray (with AQ Panther connectors) or woven-quad, solid-silver HomeGrown Audio IC-4.

I was going to try to get someone to build me a battery powered MC tubed preamp funds permitting, but that was before I found out about the CJ piece. I was going to go for shoot for tubed monoblocks in the HT room but the dynamics I'm hearing from uncompressed 24/48 movie soundtracks might set me straight there. I've got integration issues on this subject already using beefy Classe amps.
