I recently installed an HD PVR in my system. I am very impressed with the HD picture on my Panasonic HD plasma. The analog channels look quit a bit worse than they used to, but I am told that this is a compromise that I will have to 'learn to live with'. However, what I cannot accept is the intermittent signal aberrations that I get. On analog, digital and HD broadcasts, I get quick stoppages of picture and sound, and occasional pixelization.Does anyone else have these problems. My converter is the Motorola 6416.
Follow Ups:
Sounds like a signal problem (box probably OK)
The HD PVRs are much more sensitive to signal strength than the non-PVR boxes. Too weak or too hot of a signal will cause dropouts and tiling. Do you have an in-line isolator (like a Mondial MAGIC, or a Jensen) in place? If so, take it out and see if the problem goes away.
I have nothing hooked up between the wall and the PVR, and the signal strenght registers as optimal.
