I am going to replace my 3 years old sanyo VCR soon. It is an old mono audio output model, which mean it is really suck! It barely has enough output for practical use. I don't know how can I use it for that long.I have two priority: reliable & decent sound and image qualities. Please suggest a brand or a model. I really don't have a clue of what to look for. Any warning for me would be appreciated.
Thanks in advanced

I paid 299.99 cnd for a Daewoo 6 head hi-fi VCR 3 years ago no problems, concerns, or issues great sound and picture quality however, I went to Sony DVD player and now I am so used to the DVD quality picture and sound I can't watch my VCR anymore!!!!Why don't you look into a DVD player they are so cheap now.? Even if you don't have the proper surround sound environment doesn't mean you can't buy a DVD player cheack them out!!
Hope this helps you
Hi,
I think I should provide some more info to avoid confusion. My budget will be max $250. I know DVD offer better picture and sound quality, but I need the VCR for tapping some comedy when I am not home. Too bad my TV is suck too! It 's only accept RF inputs, DVD player will not be appreciated at their full potential.
I appreciate your helps anyway.
DVD is not a replacement for a VCR. This guy wants a new VCR. Unless he wants to keep the price below $200, I'd advise an S-VHS VCR. Between $2-300, there is the JVC S7600, the Sharp 101 and the Toshiba W808.If he wants to keep the price close to $100, the GE VR4274 is a good bet.
Much depends on what features he's used to, and which ones are actually necessary. With this information, I could get a lot closer to a useful answer.
I suggested a VCR smart ass I just gave him some advice towards DVDeventually DVD WILL be a replacement for a VCR, just like cd vs tape it's slowly become exstinct
