It all depends on what you classify as "not expensive." To some people that means $100/m pair IC, to others it means much less (or much more) than that. Please classify a price range and I'll give you a few suggestions.
How about the Tara Labs D-2, it had a good review in one of the HT mags. I got it as part of my system so I'm not sure of the price, but I have no complaints. It's a coaxial by the way.

I too want to get a .5 meter Toslink cable under $60 if possible. Any recommendations?
If you have decided to go with the toslink cable, I will recomend you the XLO ERTOS toslink cable. The cost for a .5 meter is about $39.95 and you can order it from Audio Advisor. The construction of this cable is better than most toslink cable I looked for.
I agree with the XLO recommendation. Their budget cable is decent. I would also suggest the Kimber toslink 1m is around $50 and is quite good.
