Can anyone recommend a 100-150 watt amp. Looking at building a subwoofer using a sonotube enclosure. I plan on using this w/5.1 channel receiver so no crossover should be neccesary. Used would be O.K. Thanks
Audiosource makes a few. I was thinking of using one for a sonotube sub as well. Should be much better than your average subwoofer amp.
Checkout Marantz. As I remember they had 2 different types
of monoblocs that received good reviews. Sound like they would fill the bill.I _think_ they still make them. Check their website. About 1 1/2 months ago Audio Advisor
had Parasound 150watt monoblocs ($249 ea), I bought 3 of
them (what a steal, they sound great!). But I'm pretty sure
they are all sold now (limited edition for AA only). Checkout the Marantz.
(nt).
I buy alot of used equipment myself, but only from reputable dealers in my area. Saves alot of headaches. Single channel amps are not easy to find. Have you considered the sub woofer amps such as are carried by Parts Express etc. They are single channel, include a crossover, and some other features that are very usefull? Another option is to buy a stereo amp and disconnect one channel internally so it is unused. Hope that helps!
