I can't find any review info on the Sony DVP-S360, and I won't assume it has any similarity to the DVP-S330.
I like a good remote - jog shuttle, lighted keypad, on-screen disp, but I don't know anything about the Sony ?
I know the Toshiba SD2200 has dual-tray and HDCD, but I'm not sure I value those much right now.
The Sony DVP-S360 says it's got 24/96 PCM output, but the Toshiba says it plays 24/96 CDs ? Anyone know if the Sony has an on-board 24/96 DAC, or is it unecessary if I use TOSlink to the receiver ?
Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks,
Dave
I got the Sony s-500 great machine, two years old, no problem, dolby digital, no dts but who cares.?, superb sound and video quality, jog shuttle, glow key pad, volume controls, audio change, angle change, etc.., optical/coaxal out, 2x s-video out, 24/96 pcm, 5.1 channel out, etc...A Great Machine, just my advice...
While i have no idea as to the current models, i did home auditions on about a half dozen models when i bought mine about a year ago. The Sony models ( tried three of them ) gave me the best video resolution ( even their cheapest ). I tried models from Pioneer, Philips and even Toshiba's most expensive player ( at the time ). I wasn't overtly concerned with sound quality, as i had intended on using an external DAC and this is a secondary system. Sean
