I currently have my VCR, DVD, and TV hooked up to an old 2 channel stereo system. While it sounds fine, I'd like to get into surround sound. Is there anyway to bring surround sound into the system without trashing the equipment I already have? I can't affoed to start from scratch. Thanks
Well, regardless which way you go, it will cost you. You need the additional speakers for sure. You can pick up a fine DD receiver in the $500 range discounted price. DD preamp and 3champ may cost more.
Mtrycrafts, I noticed somemone posting on the Audio Review Tech Talk forum using your name with a _ between mtry and crafts. He/she seems like an imposter. Were you really banned from that site? I found your comments useful and sometimes amusing.JimB
Thanks for your interest. I think I am banned as Francis has yet to respond to numerous emails why my regular full name doesn't work. However, that '_' is still me and the ones with just a blank space as they seem to post but not my regular full name. Sometimes I post with just the initials when all else fails but then I do sign my name in the text. Sometimes I have to use other sites.
Thanks. I had three unanswered emails into them regarding why I suddenly couldn't post. After no reponse, I finally re-downloaded the AOL browser and it fixed it.Good Luck,
JimB

Have you looked at the Vantas series?. (Vantas.com) I've read about them but do not know much more
Sure, pick up an HT preamp, add a 3 channel amp and some speakers. Run the HT preamp thru your tape loop and you're all set.
