All:If you were going to get some McIntosh for HT, is there anything else in the same price range that will compete? I have kind of been looking at the Theta stuff.
What competes with sound, and price. I want to make sure I have good HT, AND stereo.
Thx!

I like Mc stuff because it sound good and it actually very reliable. I wish they changed the look of the equipment, I'm not into the 70's look. Theta is nice, but kinda of expensive. If you got the bucks and you are looking at Theta, I'd seriously look at some Krell, Lexicon, EAD. I think Krell makes a 5 channel amp, that would be a very good start to any home theater. If you are still looking I suggest you check out the website at www.stereophile.com, then look for a link called "stereophile links 2 die 4". You will then find a long list of a/v manufacturers websites...happy hunting.
