I have a 55" Mitsubishi Gold rear projection tv ( RPTV ). I have been using drivers that are "shielded" or make use of "bucking magnets" to help prevent interference. Does anybody know FOR SURE if this is necessary ?I would like to build a new center channel using unshielded drivers and don't want to run into problems. Since the design that i have in mind has two 10's, two 5 1/4's and a dome tweeter, i would hate to sink that much money into this project to find out it's worthless. Sean

The electronics are at the very bottom of the TV. The top 3/4s of the TV is just a box with mirrors and a screen. Floor standers set on the sides of the TV would definately be a problem. I can't imagine that an unshielded center speaker on top of the TV would be a problem. No experience here, just a gross stab at theory.Bob
Sheilding for a speker ON TOP of a RPTV is not neccessary. Although heed the previous warning about side placement.
