I am planning to get a new TV in the next few weeks or so. Of what I have seen in the stores, I was impressed by the Panasonic CT-34WX50 and the Sony Wega sets. The 16:9 Panasonic costs about $400 more. I would welcome any advice/experience that anyone has. I watch mostly DVDs and VHS tapes, although a decent tuner is important because there is no cable service in the area.
Don't know if that is whithin your budget, but the Toshiba 34" HDTV set is unmatched, in my view. Not only the tremendous HD picture, but simply the best job at the standard TV material as well - sharpness, color purity, line doubler, everything seems to be far better than on the others that you mentioned.
