hi,
you know, this is an asylum? Anyway, yes it's crazy, but that just means you're part of the crowd. Best space saver going is one of those plasma tv's. I am going to assume you can't afford that. Good projection units are not cheap either; and they need professional installation.
If you are referring to a really old projection unit, especially from the 70's, it probably would not be very good. If it's from the 90's it might be worth looking into. If you're serious about this, find a good installer (you'll need one anyway) and ask him about it.
Hopefully he can check it out for you, if it is worth considering.
Last week's EE times reported that Panasonic has a much improved plasma display with 3,000:1 contrast ratio - equivelent to that of a CRT display. Compare this with the 100-200:1 of LCD or 300:1 of DLP and you know why CRT is the best and plasma is getting interesting.
when I see it. At the moment, all I see is overpriced plasma junk being sold on hype and good aesthetics.
