In Reply to: Best DVD for demo'ing 5.1, esp. LFE & surrounds? (nt) posted by Lee M. on April 14, 1999 at 06:53:14:
Super Speedway-Best use of surrounds. An IMAX production in THX.
Ronin-Not the best 5.1, but entertaining as hell. Best chase scene ever.
Daylight-Best use of LFE on a DVD. Will test the patience of your neighbors and the structural integrity of your house. Most bad ass explosion.
Air Force One-Worst special effects ever but, this has the best bullets around, great to hear what a shoot-em up scene is supposed to sound like on 5.1.
Fifth Element-Best DVD to date. This is almost the way that they're supposed to be mixed in 5.1. This DVD has a great picture, good story, great surround sound and great LFE.
Most overrated DVD's-Apollo 13 and Top Gun.

I have to agree with you about Top Gun. It actually sounds better in prologic than it does in DDMiKe
