I have a rear projection TV set from Pioneer, the Elite Pro-98 which is about 4 years old. I've started noticing that the images on the right 1/3 and the left 1/3 of the screen have blue shadows. I looked at the manual, and tried correcting it by adjusting the convergence of the blue lense or projector, but could not move it any further, and the shadow is still showing. The shadow is about an inch off.Can anyone give me some ideas as to what could be wrong? I know I will need to find a TV technician to fix this, but I don't want them to overcharge me for some minor repairs because I was ignorant about the problem. Thanks in advance.
I am sure you already though of this, but do you have any speakers close to the TV? If yes, try moving them.
I've removed all the equipment away from the TV, except the speakers which are 2' away on the side and 1 1/2' forward away from the TV, but the problem did not go away. Any other ideas?
Thanks for the thought. I used to have my components to the right of the TV, and I've recently bought another stand and put my audio components to the right. The speakers are at least 1' to the side and 1' in front of the TV. I will try moving the equipment racks away from the TV a bid to see if anything changes.
