Well they make a CP-3 and a DC-1 DC-2 and MC-1 with many different options available on each one. Realistically the DC-1 is about as far back as I would go. I have owned both the DC-1 and MC-1. There is not a world of difference in the sound of a DC-2 and MC-1 as they are in many ways the same on the inside. MC-1 has broadcast quality video.. Prices range 800-2000 on the DC-1 (version 4) and the DC-2 will range 2500-3000 and is a very nice unit. the MC-1 which is the best of all of the lex's is around 3200-4000 depending on the options... THX EX UlTRA... Good luck. One question is why are you looking at the Lexicon?? Music or DD and DTS? If it is music you may be dissapointed. I was. I ended up using a different processor the Thor TA 1000 for music and just about any DD 5.1 processor for the HT. Good luck. Harry
Thanks for the info. Looks like I need a DC-1 as this is purely for video SS.
The Lex kicks major booty on theater but isn't very good at two-channel. Look for a DC-1 on Audiogon or the like. Prices are a bit above what they were when there was an overabundance of DC-1s last year (due to generous trade-in allowances by Lexicon), but they are still a steal if you can find one fully loaded for $1,800 or less. Highly recommended for HT.
Thanks, is version 4 the fully loaded one?
NT.
Skip them all and go listen to a CAL SSP 2500... hard to beat. Excellent stereo and amazing flexability... only problem is it is expensive!!Miles
