Hello i just bought a set of NHT VT1.2 and need to get a receiver to run them. I want to keep it around $500. Any suggestion. I would like to eventually piece together a HT system. So im looking for something that will grow with me. It will be going in a average size living room. Any advice. Also what is the best online store to get the stuff at?Thanks in advance and sorry for all the questions.
Correction,
The price of the used Pioneer was $500.00- not 0. Ebay is not that good. - Michael
BB6,
You may want to check out www.soundcity.com or www.crutchfield.com. They sometimes have good deals on Denon or Sony recievers in your price range.
There are two other options:
1. Buy used. I picked up a used Pioneer Elite VSX-07 for .00 on ebay. The original price was close to $1200.00
2. Outlaw Audio makes a great entry level model for $600.00. I know this is above your price range, but the extra 100.00 spent would be worh it.A word of advice: Most recievers are rated into 8 ohm speaker loads. Make sure the speakers you will be using are rated into 8 ohms, not 6 or 4.
Good luck, Michael
