In Reply to: Quality component video cables under $100? posted by carter on August 16, 2000 at 14:45:50:
I found a site where they were saying that Canare cables are high quality. I don't really know how they compare to monster. The trouble is that video cables are so different from audio cables that the performance of the latter is no indicator that the manufacturer can make a decent 75 ohm cable. Canare makes one of the few RCA terminals that is actually intended to have 75 ohm matching characteristics. Thus, the cables are well reputed. Two cables that I am also aware of are the AR version and the IXOS cables. They compete in the price bracket of Monster but I don't have any info about performance. The Canare component video cables are normally used in the industry with BNC connectors. I had to special order a couple of sets with RCAs. I got mine from Markertek (www.markertek.com). They cost about $50 for a 6 ft. cable and about $60 for a 15 ft. set. Maybe some of the regulars here can give more info. about these.

I saw some good reviews about these cables at audioreview.com. They sell two grades of component video cables for about $59 and $99 for two meter sets. anyone know anything about this company??
