I stumbled on what looks to be a real slick HT/DSP/amp to turn a serious 2 channel music system into a functional but less serious 5 channel HT system. It is by Vantas and offers a Dolby Digital decoder and a 3 channel amp for center and surrounds. It has preamp outs for front left and right that hook to your msic systen tape monitor ins. The slick seeming part is you run a second wire off your main amp speaker outs into the Vanta speaker in's. The Vanta then senses the output level to your music systems front speakers and rides the center and surround to match it. Sells for about $600. Anyone have any experiance with this unit ?

I have one and I like it a lot. I have used it for about a year now with no problems.
Are you happy with its "auto" volume following feature? It would seem to me if it senses a main speaker amp out and sets the center and surround that a pumping might occur between the two as the center and surrounds follw slightly behind the fronts.Steve
