I am really new at this, can someone help ?
Here is what I have, everything is connected by RCA cables and I get Pro Logic, but not Dolby Digital sound.
CATV for basic TV >
Hughes Gold edition sat rec with RCA & s video outputs >
Sharp VCR with RCA in & out >
Kenwood reciver with RCA, S video & optical >
JVC tv with RCA & S video
The sat is tuned on Video-1 on the VCR, and the CATV is also tuned by VCR, the receiver output comes on video-1 (it also has a video 2 & 3 jacks).
I plan to add a DVD with RCA, S video and optical.
Thanks, Robert
Follow Ups:
Most digital satellite receivers do not relay Dolby Digital signals (even via digital out connection). Shame.
You need a proper DD source i.e. DVD player in order to get the full effects.
Good luck,
Benoit.
What you need,1. A dolby digital source.
2. A dolby digital processor.
3. A digital or optical cable between the above.I don't know anything about your equipment, but if your sat. will put out a DD signal, and your receiver will process that signal, all you need is a optical or digital cable to connect the two.
You can e-me if you need any more help.
SeeYa,
KAK
