These problems are inherent to all the small dish systems(way too much compression,2nd generation signals, rain fade,etc.,etc).
I have a "big" dish, and there is no comparison.I get the SAME signals sent to cable, broadcast TV stations, etc. The programming is SO MUCH CHEAPER.I got 2 years of Showtime/TMC for $49.95 a year. The NFL was $129.You save enough to pay for a big dish quickly plus you can buy programming a la carte. No packages full of fluff necessary. It amazes me that audiophiles will pay $200-300 for a cable or power cord, but settle for DBS satellite.Side by side,it's like a Technics receiver next to an audiophile amp!
