It's a progressive scan / DVD-Audio machine. Projected retail will
be US$849, with an estimated street price of US$799.I don't have access to my CEDIA materials, but I think this isn't
available for sale until november.Hope this helps.
Follow Ups:
I already have a Wadia 830 CD player. I would not use the JVC as a CD player, it would be used purely for movies. Would I be wasting money a feature that I would never use, or is the DVD audio quality also upgraded significantly?Thank you,
Mike
Sorry, DVD-Audio isn't "CD Quality". It's a bit above that level.
Consider the specs alone and it's tremendous.I've not heard a lot of DVD-Audio material, but every bit of
material surpasses the capability of CD (as does SACD).The Wadia is an excellent CD player, no doubt. Given that the
price of this player (the JVC) is in line with other progressive scan
players and gives you the added superb sonics of DVD-Audio, consider
this as a possibility.
