I'm trying to find a good digital RPTV for my parents, and I don't know where to start. I've looked at a few Panasonic and Toshiba models.Basically, I'm looking for around 61", 4:3 ratio, digital RPTV with internal line-doubling. Can this be found for around $3,000 street price? If not, what features do I have to give up to make the $3,000 price point without going down in screen size?
Thanks for input,

Sony make an excellent 61 inch digital RPTV that I think retails for 3800.00 but I am sure the street price is lower. It is the best 4:3 ratio tv that I have seen. On HDTv signals it does an excellent job with grey bars above and below the 16:9 picture. I compared it side by side with A Pioneer Elite widescreen HDTV. The Sony more than held it's own. Yes, the Pioneer was better but not by a very wide margin. It was such an excellent set that I can not wait to see the new 16:9 sets that Sony is releasing. If you have to have 4:3, in my opinion this is the best one made. It was on the cover of last months The Perfect Vision. Oh the grey bars in case you did not know is to reduce uneven wear of the picture.
I'd recommend the 16:9 Toshiba TW56X81. 16:9 is the future, not 4:3. The Toshiba is a great set once it has been adjusted (it's picture, like virtually all sets is too hot out of the box). I've seen the Toshiba for about $3200 on the net.
