I have a NAD amp (80wpc) sitting around looking for work. (like my teenaged son) Would there be any advantages to using it to drive the rear speakers seperately from the DSP A1, in my HT setup, or would this just be a waste of time? ThanksJohn
I'd suggest using the NAD to power your front main speakers, as NAD's 80wpc amp is certainly more powerful and better sounding than the 110 wpc Yamaha. Try it out, and if you notice an improvement (you might, depending on how good your gear is), keep it there. Good luck!
Thanks Justin, I hadn't thought (thinking, is not one of my stronger points anymore) of doing the fronts with the NAD, I'll play with it today and see what happens.John

this is good:-)
I would say it depends on your A1s rear power capability. How much it has and how demanding your rear speakers are regarding to the lowest impedance. The loudest levels you are likely to play has an effect as well. If you have the space you may want to try but don't expect miracles, even small ones.
If he ever gets a job, THAT will be a miracle.
Thanks on the other, I'm not looking for miracles here either, I guess worst case is the green lights on the amp will look nice in my rack. Style over substance mtry, words to live by.John
