I haven't seen too many posts about this unit on any web site, but the few I've read indicate is a good HT/music preamp. I'm ordering one today. So would anybody like to give my mind peace and tell me it was a good purchase? Any other owners out there?
Robert
Follow Ups:
I compared the Anthem and the B&K, and decided on the B&K becuse of its larger amount of features like EX decoding. I am also kind of excited about the upgrades that promise to keep the Ref30 from becoming a paperwieght in a year. I say "kind of" because I'll believe it when I see it, but I'm confident that even without factory upgrades, this unit will be entertaining me for years to come.So fear not! You have made a wise purchase!
Looking to purchase one myself. Comparing w/ Parasound @$400-700 more at the upper end & the Anthem by Sonic Frontiers at $200 less. (w/Balanced Outputs to boot). I personally gravitate towards Anthem because of balanced feature, unless someone has a better reason to stick w/B&K.
I know the B&K has two channel analog pass-through for any turntable, tape deck or CD player that you wish to hear without digitizing. I know the Parasound does not have that feature. 'Don't know about the Anthem as I didn't consider it.Robert
Correct on all counts. The B&K has analog bypass on any input. The Anthem only has
analog bypass on the 5.1 input. They're both superb at their price, and they're competitive sonically
with pre/pros as expensive as US$4K.Nice to see the performance increasing while the cost remains the same
or drops.Regards,
