Add Your Review for the Auric Illuminator |
Upon receiving my package of audience Auric Illuminator, I proceeded to go over the instructions. In the box was a 2oz bottle of liquid, one black felt marker and at least 20 cotton pads. The instructions are very easy and direct .
I chose a few older vocals, some that were the first in my cd collection, as these have had a good break-in.
The first was Franco Corelli sings Opera Arias,EMI CDC-7 47851 2.The second An Old Met Christmas, Met 206 CD. Both CD's are fabulous to listen to, but the treatment really cleaned up and appeared to bring the vocal out a bit more. I also played the disc on other players, as a test, and one player that would skip on certain tracks had no problem reading the information.
I did a test on the LD Hello Dolly, 20th Century Fox,AC-3 version.
This proved an excellent test ,as Fox, or who ever did the recording did it a few db's too low. On side one, Chapter 2 and 3 really came alive. I did a test on both the Pro- logic and Dolby Digital tracks with the same results.
I have done other CD's and LD's and would have to say that the name, Auric Illuminator, is a correct name as it "unmask" and brings foward a natural sound.
Is the product worth the $39.95, get the box and I don't think you will be dissapointed .

Hi Carl, Wow, this sounds like a really good thing. How many discs approximately is one bottle supposed to do?? Why the swabs?? Seems a little difficult to clean a disc with a cotton(?) swab. Where can this be purchased?? And so you do recommend it I take it?? Thanks for the insight. Peace SteveF
Steve,
Mexico gave a good answer.
I will say this, I think it really depend on what equipment you have and how critical a listener you are, whether it be music with or without vocal.
I don't believe that this product is a gimmick, but perhaps is making it so the laser can read what is actually on the disc and not being interferred with reflection from the center or sides. In my post, I mentioned that I played the disc on several other machines. Those other machines would skip or do other things. When the black was applied aroound the outer and inner circle, and the treatment given they played .
The company does stand behind the product. If you do get it, let us know .

Auric Illuminator will treat 200 to 400 discs. It is a semi-perminent application; however can be washed off if desired. There are no cotton swabs. There are 15 polishing towels that are all senthetic so that no harm can be caused to the plastic. You can purchase directly at www.audience-av.com or call Audience at 800-565-4390.
