Advances in this technology suggest some of devices are HDTV capable/ready and that they offer better picture quality than a conventional TV. I guess that also means same resolution as a projection device with 9" tubes? I heard that there is no warranty with plasma systems costing $25,000. Yikes. I am interested but need sooo much information. Where can I get good reliable comparisons? I am looking for 42 -50" screen.I hear Fujistu offer state of the art plasma. Appreciate any comments. Thanks.

The Pioneer 50" HD set is absolutely incredible. Playing an HD signal it beats the pants off of rear projection, CRT, and (gasp) front projection.
Plasma was a good idea, but it remained to be just that a good idea. Still no substitute to good tube. LCD is not even an idea anymore.
We have a Sony 42" at work and it does not look very good and there is a lot of remanance with it. If we put a colorbar on it and then remove it, it stays there almost forever !I think that for now, CRT's are still the best.
I think it was etown.com that compared the major brands in plasma TV, and they thought Panasonic was the clear victor in performance, so check out the website(s)...
is the exact address for the interesting article! good luck...
